Hyperopia (Longsightedness) is when your child can see things at a distance but the have trouble seeing objects that are closer to them.

Myopia (Shortsightedness) is when your child can see objects that are close but have trouble focusing on objects in the distance,

Astigmatism (Irregular shaped eye). If your child's eye has an irregular curve then your child's vision may be blurred

Strabismus is when the child has crossed eyes or some other obvious misalignment of the eye.

Squint is a condition where the child's eyes point in different directions.

It can cause blurred vision, double vision and lead to lazy eye.

Amblyopia (Lazy eye) begins in infancy and early childhood.

Usually, it affects one eye only.

But in some cases both eyes can be affected. 

If left untreated, lazy eye can cause severe visual disability, including legal blindness.
